Grace House exists to bring holistic restoration to women struggling with chronic addiction.

Human lives are being broken and battered by addiction to drugs and alcohol.  Each year in the city of Waco, approximately 230 people use inhalants, 400 people use hallucinogens, 900 people use cocaine and 2,400 abuse prescription drugs.  Substance abuse costs our nation approximately $740 billion a year. Excessive alcohol use leads to 88,000 lives being lost each year. Grace House Waco is one of the only places in Central Texas where women can go to receive long-term, holistic, faith-based recovery free of charge.

We aim to help them achieve their full potential through individualized treatment in a family-style setting. Grace House offers a safe environment for women to work through the trauma of their past. The program includes counseling, life-skills training, education in healthy living, spiritual development and job training. As their lives are transformed, their families and our community are transformed.

The treatment and recovery services at Grace House are exclusively faith-based in nature and are not subject to licensure or regulation by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. This program offers only non-medical treatment and recovery methods, such as prayer, moral guidance, spiritual counseling and scriptural study.

We have a variety of opportunities for women to volunteer at the home to support its daily operations. These opportunities range from ministering to the women in the house through prayer and encouragement to helping with fundraising events. The home is open 24/7 so there are a variety of shifts available for volunteers with the typical shift being two to four hours. We also need professionals who are willing to provide pro bono services in a variety of areas of expertise, such as medicine, education, cosmetology, etc.
